Designing a luxury white label range based on wood and wood derivatives

We have developed a standard yet luxurious range in collaboration with the designer Thierry de Baschmakoff. The range is made of wood and mBlack™ and is fully refillable. Thierry is behind the Burberry make-up range, La Neige lipstick, Rochas My Frenchic perfume bottle, Jimmy Choo L’eau perfume or Guerlain Homme fragrance.

Why a White label range?

We wanted to develop a premium mini-collection instead of just one product. So the exclusive range is available with a family of skin care jars, lipsticks, compacts and caps for skincare or perfume bottles.

We are in love with the product and we’re not just a provider of components but a creator of complete packaging solutions. We believe that delivering a standard range can actually help us serve brands better.

A standard range offers a lot of flexibility within set rules, and creating it is actually a very creative process. We’ve already done the heavy lifting part: developing the designs from scratch, and making sure that the design works with every application or situation.

You may think that you want your own style, and a pre-designed range wouldn’t give you the WOW effect you are after.

What if we designed a range that offers extreme personalization through shapes, colours and finishes, and that if we were to present it with two very different versions, you wouldn’t guess they belong to the same range? Wanna bet?

Thanks to a pre-designed range based on a universal core systems, we just have to play with the elements and the finishes, to make it 100% yours.

Can white label be luxurious?

This was one of our main concerns when creating the range.

“ The design objective was to make wood disappear, thanks to mPackting's expertise in woodworking and finishing. Everyone must interpret wood differently, as it is a noble material. The secret to luxury lies in the details, that's why we achieved amazing results through customised decoration using different finishing techniques," explains Thierry de Baschmakoff.

The beauty of this SILVA range is that we manage to use a noble and sustainable host material while adapting it to the design needs of beauty brands.

We’ve also decided to develop the SILVA range with a well-known designer that is recognised in the luxury beauty market for his amazing work and experience. Thierry managed to combine his knowledge with ours, and offered us an interesting challenge. Perfect teamwork!

Thierry also wants to develop more sustainable products, and he says that “it needs to come from the design aspects. We need to design-in sustainable features and most importantly design-out waste. And that is exactly what we have achieved with this range since it’s fully refillable and easy to separate at the end of the lifecycle”.

This is about transforming normal packaging into art objects. Objects that are worth keeping and refilling.

Is our SILVA range sustainable ?

Well, actually yes. Our approach is truly holistic because it covers resources and materials employed, but also manufacturing approach, distribution, and responsible end-of-life features. Check out all our sustainable features here!
The full range is already available, designed, engineered, and ready for showcase.

Once manufactured we offer a wide range of finishes (varnishing, lacquering, decoration to mention a few) and laser engraving capabilities. This will make your product unique. We can also guide you with the finishes that are the most eco-responsible, energy efficient and the less carbon intensive.

We have developed this luxury range with universal refill systems. This means that the same refill system (core) can be coupled to a virtually infinite number of outer design options! The outer parts can be made using wood, cork, metals, ceramics, mBlack™ and other biopolymers. Our best recommendation is to use wood for the top components, and mBlack™ (our carbon sink material) for the bottom parts, and to use simple yet refined decoration that matches your branding.
